At Holy Cross Catholic International School, academic excellence is more than a goal—it is a way of life. This was once again proven when a group of our exceptional students took part in the recent World Scholar’s Cup competition held at Brookhouse School. Competing among some of the brightest minds from across the region, our students demonstrated brilliance, confidence, and teamwork, earning a total of 16 medals3 gold and 13 silver.

Their outstanding performance has qualified them for the Global Round, an elite opportunity that awaits them later this year. With their eyes set on the international stage, our scholars continue to embody the values of curiosity, courage, and community.

So, what is the World Scholar’s Cup all about?

The World Scholar’s Cup competition is an internationally recognized academic event that challenges students through four core activities: Team Debate, Collaborative Writing, the Scholar’s Challenge, and the Scholar’s Bowl. These events encourage critical thinking, global awareness, and cooperative learning. Thousands of students from over 60 countries take part each year, making it a truly global celebration of learning.

During the Brookhouse round, our students debated passionately, wrote creatively, and approached complex challenges with analytical precision. Although many schools participated, our team distinguished itself through dedication and preparation. Every discussion held, every idea expressed, and every question answered brought them one step closer to their success.

The medals were awarded with pride and joy, but the journey was marked by more than just awards. It was filled with shared experiences, laughter, and the joy of pushing beyond personal limits. Growth was witnessed not only in their academic skills but also in their confidence and sense of purpose.

Support from our faculty played a crucial role in this achievement. Teachers invested time and energy to guide the students, review their work, and help them refine their arguments and writing. This victory reflects not only the efforts of the scholars but also the dedication of the educators behind them.

Looking ahead, the team is preparing for the Global Round with renewed energy and ambition. This next phase will connect them with scholars from around the world, offering new perspectives and lifelong friendships.

At our international Catholic school, such milestones remind us of why we place such a strong emphasis on holistic education. Success in the classroom is important—but so is nurturing the ability to think critically, speak confidently, and collaborate with empathy.

We are incredibly proud of our World Scholars. Their success is a beacon to others, proving that when talent meets opportunity, excellence follows naturally.
