Saturday 18 November will be a remarkable day for the Holy Cross catholic International School family. We shall be celebrating our 10 year anniversary and while at it, we shall also have our open day contemporaneously. Now, one thing you are not going to miss is this remarkable play re-enacting the battle of Lepanto which is prepared by our very own dear students.
The Lepanto Play Unveiled
In the hallowed halls of our school, we believe that each student is blessed with unique talents, gifts from the Divine, waiting to be uncovered and nurtured. Our vibrant array of clubs, from Choir to Drama, Drawing to Journalism, Traditional Dances to more, provides the canvas on which these talents are beautifully painted.
This year, we embark on an extraordinary journey that unites these talents, bringing them together to create a masterpiece that transcends individual skill. Why a drama, you ask? Because we believe in the power of unity, the magic that happens when diverse talents merge to tell a compelling story.
The Power of Collaboration: Crafting the ‘Lepanto’ Play
Our drama project is a testament to the strength of collaboration. It’s more than a performance; it’s a collective endeavor that unites students from various clubs – Drama, Choir, Instrumentalists, Dancers, Poets, and many more. Each student brings a unique thread to this tapestry, weaving together a story that will leave a lasting imprint on hearts.
Why ‘Lepanto’?
In the vast library of human history, some stories stand as beacons, illuminating the path to timeless virtues and values. ‘Lepanto,’ the dramatic portrayal of a pivotal moment in history, emerged as our choice for several profound reasons.
The Triumph of Faith: ‘Lepanto’ is a celebration of faith – the unwavering belief in the Divine even in the face of adversity. It reminds us that in our lives, faith can move mountains.
The Beauty of Christianity: At its heart, ‘Lepanto’ is a reflection of the beauty of Christianity. It is a testament to the sanctity of family life, the majesty of Rome, and the sacred authority of the Papacy. These elements echo the teachings that form the core of our school, Holy Cross catholic International School.
The Rosary’s Radiance: The drama pays homage to the devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, particularly through the Holy Rosary. It serves as a reminder of the transformative power of prayer and the intercession of Mary, our mother.
A Symphony of Virtues: Lepanto is a story of courage, generosity, and charity. It underscores the importance of fidelity to the graces we receive and the primacy of the common good over personal gain.
A Beacon for Our Times: In an ever-changing world, Lepanto remains a beacon, casting its light on the virtues and values we hold dear. It reminds us of the importance of faith, unity, and the pursuit of the true, the good, and the beautiful.
Lepanto Unveiled
At Holy Cross, we believe in using our arts and skills in service to truth and beauty. The Lepanto drama embodies this philosophy, as it weaves a narrative rich in faith, courage, and love, reflecting the core values we strive to instill in our students.
These virtues are not mere ideals; they are the essence of our mission. In a world that sometimes seems adrift, they serve as a compass, guiding us toward a better future.
We invite you to join us on this remarkable journey as we unveil Lepanto, a testimony to the power of collaboration, the triumph of faith, and the enduring beauty of our shared values.
Stay tuned for more updates on this extraordinary project. We can’t wait to share this experience with you.
